iT Rocks long time client since 2005 to date, speedway rider Brendan Johnson has today announced his retirement from the sport. Last season he was due to race for the Isle of Wight Warriors in their comeback season but his hopes were curtailed in a pre-season training crash which has kept him out of the sport ever since.
Brendan said, "This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life and today I will share it with the rest of you, that I will be retiring as of now from a sport I have loved from the age of 12. This has been no easy decision."
Brendan was the first speedway rider to have a fully responsive website built for last season with us which can be viewed here www.bdjracing.co.uk He added, "After a race career that started over 10 years ago I have achieved a lot, raced in all three tiers of British Speedway, Been a British Champion, represented Team GB in team and individual events all over the world and even fulfilled a childhood dream of racing for my beloved Poole Pirates and racing at the millennium stadium prior to the British SGP twice."
Brendan came back from a serious head injury to became a British Under 19 Champion in 2010 at Somerset speedway. Following this he was never able to become consistent enough to be the rider he was before the crash. Brendan concluded, "The sport has declined in recent years and is being dragged down by the powers that be, I would love to see it change and be the thriving sport it used to be as it truly is still the best sport you can watch live in the UK."
All at iT Rocks Marketing would like to thank Brendan and his family for their friendship over the years and wish them all many years of success in the future wherever the path of life takes them.
